My experience is that it isn't that difficult if you are not limiting yourself by geography. Lots of academic and commercial labs seem to be looking. As for myself I would be very apprehensive about signing out general surg path after not doing so for 3-5+ years. At least without doing some type of refresher (surg path fellowship).
