Figured this would be the best place to ask since you medicine ppl are knowledgeable about these sorts of things.

I am an intern going to Mexico for a medical missionary trip. I was planning on getting Hep A and Meningitis Vaccines before I left. Any side effects or things that I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Ironic then that a rising anesthesiology resident is responding, huh. . . 😉

I can't personally comment on the meningitis vaccine, but I got the Hep A vaccination before a medical trip to Mexico as well, and it was completely benign. Even the shot itself was totally painless.

If you haven't already, check the CDC website for more details on both vaccines. www.cdc.gov

Dont know if this is the mengococcal vaccine you're getting:
