I am using the red robbins path q-book and came across this question:

50yo F, tests + for HepA, AST= 275, ALT=310, one mo. later enzymes back to normal, which phase of the cell cycle best describes the hepatocytes 1 mo. after infection?
a. G0
b. G1
c. S
d. G2
e. M
Since hepatocytes can regenerate, why would they not be in G1 (rather than G0), since after an insult they will try to regenerate?

thanks in advance :)

One month later, there wouldn't be any more triggers for the hepatocytes to keep dividing. They would return to their resting state, G0.
