Some of you may remember my previous post, but if not here's the link to refresh your memory http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=817563. New viewers/critics are welcome.

Basically this is an update to my plans due to some "course technicalities" 😱, and I wanted you guys/ladies to weigh in on it. At the college i graduated from the only other undergraduate biology courses they offer (that i haven't taken) are
virology,
parasitology,
mycology, and
prin. of genetics (i took the higher molecular biology/genetics and got a c).

So, in continuing my post-bacc plans, should I include any of these courses?
Or, should I retake the prereqs I got Cs in?
Then there's the masters in biology (microbio concentration)...
Lets here it.

Thanks

all those classes sound sucky except virology. take that. parasitology maybe that too if u must.? the other 2.......not so much
that would only be 2 courses tho, can u go to a diff school that offers more selection?

so you're saying no retakes?

Don't retake. Just take those 4 courses; maybe add some environmental sciences or others. As for the 3 you listed, I'd recommend you take 2 of them.

Mycology - It's actually pretty interesting. Easy. I mean, fungi are found everywhere and have many uses. I had a great teacher though.

Parasitology - F'ing boring as hell. Very hard. So many lifecycles. There are some parasites that have like 4 vectors and 10 stages of development. Stay away!

Virology - Really interesting. Hard. But it's just a cool topic and fascinating.

you might need to transfer to another college to continue post-bacc. Your school doesn't offer any serious upper level bios (wheres the biochems? Physiology? Immunology? Histology? Anatomy? Microbiology? Pharmacology? etc etc)

I've taken those (see link @ top). I made Bs in all of them except anat and phys (got Cs).

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!? LOL

oops... I see it now.

Hmm.. I would take those new classes (but not mycology). The only other thing I would retake are upper level bios where you have a C+ or lower so basically:
humant - c
humphy - c
physc 2 - d

If you 4.0 those classes, there is a chance you'll touch 3.0 sGPA (right?).... then after that you have 2 options really, either you kill the DAT (cheaper options), or you transfer over to a masters since you don't have any more bios to take in post-bacc

Or, if there's another University near you, see if they offer other different upper-div bio courses. Surprisingly, San Diego State University has more interesting upper-div Bio courses than University of Southern California does (UCSD being a VERY research/pre-med oriented school). UCSD doesn't offer Anatomy, Histology, Pharmacology, and a couple others, but our CSU does.

Kill the DAT, regardless. Like literally kill it. When you leave, your computer test station should be on fire.

lmao

I vow to kill that damn DAT. After doing so, I will be taking all of my study materials to the range and commence with the end of its miserable existence. Avatar coming soon (granted I score >=21s) lmao! This is good motivation talk.
