I'm a junior at Old Dominion University.

Stats:
Age: 27
Overall GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.7
MCAT: Taking next spring
Volunteer 10 hours a week and shadow a dermatologist
I'm involved with the Pre-Health Professional and Biological Honor Societies as well as Pre-Health club.

My goal is Eastern Virginia Medical School, although I'm willing to go anywhere!

ECs and GPA is nice...its all depends on the MCAT buddy...
just get some great Letters of Recs and why not...also since u are interested in EVMS, definitely start contacting the admissions office and making yourself familiar with them and ask for personal tips to make your application more competitive

3.6 and 31 are the mean acceptee stats at EVMS. You don't specify the type of volunteering you're doing. If it is in a clinical environment, I'd hope you'll have the average of about 150 hours by the time you apply. For shadowing, 8-40 hours total for each of 2-3 types of specialties is a good goal. What is your research and leadership experience? Do you have any teaching/mentoring background? Any teamwork? Any other community service? Since your age is non-tarditional, do you have any interesting work or life experience to put on your application?
