Hey Everyone

I have been looking for at this forum for a while their is some succuessful people and want some advice. I am currently going to be a junior as an exercise science major and take classes like kinseology and biomechancis. I am bio minor is it ok if I don't major in chemistry. Also, I currently got a 3.43 GPA. And Volunteer an EMT Basic, Part of AED Premedical Honor Society, Tutor High School, and have a position in Pi Kappa Alpha my Fratenity. I am intrested in Pharmacy School at Shenadoah University? Does anybody know anything about the school. All they told me the average GPA was 3.3 and it rolling admission process. I want my 4 year degree before I apply any advice?

Jon

Hi Jon,
I recommend getting some pharmacy experience under your belt, such as joining a pre-pharmacy club or interning at a pharmacy. Though you have strong extracurriculars, none suggest that you are interested in pharmacy in particular. Does the school offer interviews? If they do then that will ultimately make or break you.

Shenadoah offers a 6 year program so some of the slots will already be filled and it might be a little harder to get into depending on the number of applicants.
Your ECs sound good i had absolutely NO pharmacy experience when applying to pharm school so its not completely necessary.
I'm sure its fine if you don't major in chem.
Is there any special reason you won't apply for admission after your junior year? at least then the degree could be a fall back plan "that you always intended on doing anyway" rather than have to sit out a year doing nothing after you have a degree (not saying you wont get in).
I did the sorority thing and had a lot of volunteer stuff through that and on my own... if i'm not mistake isn't PIKE's philanthropy the red cross? i would definitely mention any activity you had with that too..

oh and APPLY EARLY
