Hey guys!
I am the new guy age: 19 and I am so glad that I have found this site! I am currently a Kinesiology major option in exercise science. I am almost done with my 2nd year at CSULB and currently have a 3.5 total GPA. Last semester I took 20 units and sadly only ended up with a 3.4 gpa due to the work load. This semester I am working and taking 18 units. I plan on studying for the DAT this summer. Taking Organic Chemistry Jr year. Then studying again during winter break. I plan to take the DAT after winter break. Any advice, any tips would be appreciated.
Currently:
3.5 Accum GPA (Will do my best to improve it)
Employed at a Dental office. I mainly assist the doctor/ work in the back.
I am not like the usual student that gets into dental school. I know most people do biology but I am taking a different route and actually majoring in something that interests me. (KINESIOLOGY)
I wake up in the morning to surf.
Go to school and study when I got the time.
When I get off of work I usually head to martial arts practice / mma .
-I don't work for the money although my family can use every penny. I try my best to help my parents pay the rent. I came up from a very tough place/time. Growing up in Palestine , watching my home burn down, coming here at a young age with nothing but the clothes I have on.
* What do you guys recommend I focus on and do (As a sophmore in College I feel so behind! I am barley getting done with General Chem.. I have a while to go) Being a Kinesiology major I have to take a couple of extra classes but its no problem as long as I get an under-grad in something I enjoy! When should I take the DAT?
* Do I even have a chance at getting in?
*If I fail and don't get into dental school can I re-apply? or should I look into a different career? [PA?]
Today at work :
I love working at a dental office, today a patient who didn't have teeth for 2 years just got their dentures. When I brought the dentures watching the patient try them on and burst in tears was like a WOOO. The patient was crying of happiness! It was the best feeling ever..Just looking and seeing how happy the patient was. The patient constantly thanked me ... I want to help others.. I want to make a difference, and today gave me a feel of how great it is to help !
I love you ALL!!!!! I would appreciate any advice, and no that I would do the same for all YALL!
