Ok, so here's my dilemma in bullet form:
1. I have been VOLUNTEERING in a research lab for a year
2. I'm broke🙁
3. Cool option through HHMI makes it possible for me to graduate with Honors in Biology and get paid for doing the same research I am already doing
4. HHMI=extra hard /time consuming classes that need to be taken next semester
5. I also NEED to take Developmental Bio (3-units) Biochemistry (3-units) and Mammalian physiology+lab (4-units). So I end up with about ~16 units (including HHMI stuff)
6. Taking mcat review from Jan-April
7. Working every weekend ~32 hours
8. Can't quit job because it is good clinical experience
9. Girlfriend is probably going to dump my work-a-holic a$$ next semester; that is, if she can hang on this semester...

What would you do?
I might be able to take my mammalian phys. lab(1 unit) the following semester but still...

Ditch the "girlfriend" item and miraculously you will have more time...

we don't spend any time together as is: that's why she is going to dump my arse.
I think I just need to stop my whining and suck it up.

my advice: quit whining and nut up. the way i figure it is that the semester you study for the mcat will be a $hitty semester, taking 16 credits makes for a $hitty semester, and getting dumped makes for a $hitty semester. you might as well minimize the area under the curve so to speak, man up and go for it. on the plus side you'll be getting paid for your research, most all of your classes overlap with the mcat review, and pretty well solidify your application [hhmi, volunteer, research, honors, clinical experience]. you'll be golden the eyes of adcoms if you can get through this. peace.
