HI, I am currently sophomore at a college.
I have two questions.

1) When do you apply to dental school?
ex) summer of junior year? or first semester of senior year?
or summer of senior year?

2)And I am planning on to do research starting next semester.
Does it matter how long you do research?

Thanks for your inputs 👍

1) If you want to start the fall after you graduate, then you need to apply in the cycle that opens in May of your junior year. Applying in the summer after your senior year will give you a gap year (not that it’s a bad thing at all).

2) Just as with any activity you put on your application, the longer the better. I would say working on a research project for a year is significant. However sticking around longer to get something published would be better.

Hysteria is correct with the timeline. Doubt you will get anything published in one yr though (doesn't really matter... good GPA and DAT will get you in no matter what). Just be sure you know whats going on in your research when they ask about it at the interview.
