Hi all, I just had a question regarding an intro class that was part of the general course requirements for my school. This class was in its own category of perspectives to choose from, with 5 out of 6 categories needed to be completed to finish core requirements.

Well I took this class, as well as another class within the same category perspective...and got a C- in one of them. My college will accept it but aacomas will not. But it is not a worry since I took another class within the same category and got an A- on it.

Well my question is, since the aacomas won't accept this C- grade, and the class itself can be seen as an "extra" since I took another class to fulfill the same requirement, will it be okay to ignore this C- course, since aacomas won't accept it, and I won't need it as a requirement anyway? Should I not even bother counting this C- into my cgpa? Thanks

That was a very confusing post.

The class you got a C- in, will be included in your GPA calculation.

The C and above requirment, is only for pre-requisites to be counted for schools.

Example:

Gen CHem 1: C-. This will count towards your GPA but you will have to retake it and get a minimum of a C, which then would replace your previous grade in teh GPA calculation.

Example 2:

Random General credit class: C- This will count towards your GPA, you do not have to retake it if you don't want to, since it is not a pre-req.

You have to enter every class on AACOMAS. They also check it against a hard copy of your transcript sent from the school. I don't think you have a choice.

What do you mean AACOMAS won't accept it? You must report all grades.

If the class is a repeat of equal or greater credit hours, then the course is replaced. However, you still must list both course instances in AACOMAS.

AACOMAS will compare what the courses you enter with the official transcripts you submit. This is the verification process.

Refer to the AACOMAS guide on its website for further clarification.

Are these electives? My school had something similar.

You have to report both and I'm sure both of them have slightly different titles.

Elec 101: Cultures of the middle east and Elec 101: Important historical figures are 2 different classes even though the designation is Elec 101.

You have to send official transcripts when you matriculate. They will most likely see it.
