I have a doubt, so i know that high altitude causes decrease o2 content due to decrease pao2. However FA says that in response to high altitude, your body produces more erythropoietin (which increases hb.) If you have increased hb, you should have an increased o2 carrying capacity. Shouldn't an increase in hb normalize the o2 content according to this formula : o2 content= (1.34xhbxsao2) + (0.003xpa02) ?

thanks!
