Since Medicare dropped its payment for urine drug testing to about 1/5th of what they were paying earlier, some labs have offered to help set up a high complexity lab at the point of care. Please let me know if anyone has established a high complexity lab at the point of care.
One of the analyzer manufacturer has offered to provide the analyzer free of cost (worked in to reagent costs). At the outset it looks like the practice stands to profit from this approach and can provide more accurate UDS results than the cup and dip approach.
