I have a 3.8 GPA, but it is possible that I get a 30 equivalent on the new MCAT in a few weeks. I know that I am just speculating right now but I am just preparing myself if I do end up with a 30 score.
Would a high GPA and lowish MCAT hurt my application?

To someone who totes a 3.8 gpa, that's a bit of a discrepancy, but not enough to be a deal breaker

Only on SDN Pre-Med Allopathic Section will someone make a thread about their "low" 30 MCAT score.

Honestly, I don't think there's a discrepancy between a 3.8 and a 30, depending on what school you go to. I've met pre-meds who had 4.0's from really non-competitive state schools who struggled to break 30 on the MCAT.

I should have used a different word than discrepancy- my apologies OP. This MCAT just moves you into a different set of subset for schools, as Wedge D said. It will just be that there will be candidates with lower GPAs applying and Higer MCATS- that's where I didn't use the word eloquently to say that this may show up in a harsher light. It was definitely not meant to be an attack on OPs MCAT, so again, I apologize.
