What is the highest interview rate for in-state students?

I know that in california, it is about 1 spot for every 10 in state student. in virginia, it is almost 30%.

You should check USNEWS, they have that type of info, i.e. # of apps, # of interviews, # of acceptances.

University of Arizona...about 450 applicants, all instate. All of these are interviewed, with 100 slots for acceptance. Good odds, statistically.

Minnesota interviews basically every in-state applicant with a pulse. If you get a secondary, you get an interview. I had my interview scheduled before I even got the secondary. There is some screening of AMCAS apps, but I think they interview like 75-80% of in-state applicants.

Are their in-state acceptance rates also higher than most?

University of Maryland interviews about half of in-state applicants, and accepts over a quarter of them.

Thanks for the info!

I just did some calcuations from usnews.com

the in state acceptance rates are:

U. maryland, 27.37%
U. minnesota 15% - duluth
U. Minnesota 29.9695 - twin cities

U. Arizona 24%

Eastern virginia 30.87%
U. Virginia 21.91%
Vcu 28.275

comparing with schools in california!

for example,
UC, Irvine which accepts only in state student, the rate is onnnnly

6.3%!!!

So for you folks in california, it is to explore the east! yea. i am glad that i am in virginia.

I know the TExas system, basically has only Texas resident due to funding issues.
