Hi, I am a newbie to this site and a soon to be HS senior.( dont shake your heads) I want to go to dental school after I receive a BS degree. I have many questions but here is my current game plan.
I am blessed with athletic ability and hope to receive an athletic scholarship. I dont really care where I go to school. Frankly, I will go to the highest bidder. First question is, with dental school in the future, how selective should I be in selecting an undergrad school? I hope to participate in a Div.1 athletic program. I know I have to perform academically in undergrad school. This is a given. Secondly, I have been led to believe that dental schools are more likely to accept an applicant that has graduated from an undergrad school affiliated with their dental school. For example, the Baylor College of Dentistry would give preference to a Baylor grad; Oklahoma College of Dentistry would give preference to an OU grad.
So whadaya think?
I am open to all suggestions.
