when i went to prometric to take my practice test a few days ago, i found that i was able to highlight, but i couldn't un-highlight. it was making me so mad! on the real test, can you erase the highlighting?

and what is that scary "LOCK" button at the bottom of the screen?? i was afraid to hit it.

I think I remember reading in the tutorial that the lock button was for an emergency break after your break time was up. Your time keeps running if you use it and they look into your test to make sure you didn't cheat. It locks the screen so no one messes with your computer while you're not at the desk.

Or maybe that was a different button? Perhaps someone else can confirm.

I could highlight and un-highlight my practice exam. You should talk to someone at your testing center about this before the real deal!

I had trouble with the highlighting and the strikeout features on my exam too. It was annoying but what can you do haha.

Also the way I understood the lock button from the tutorial was that if you were in the middle of the block and needed to take an emergency break (e.g. You start puking violently at your computer, a fire breaks out at your station, or something else that is very bad), you hit lock and exit the testing room. This need not be after all your break time has been used up; this button is for stopping your test once you have started but not completed a section. Prometric flags any use of the lock button as an anomalous event and it may be investigated by whomever investigates these sorts of things. Basically, do not use the lock button at all.

This is right. I wasn't remembering it completely correctly.
