For diagnostic blocks of sensory branches to femoral and obturator, what codes are you using? 64450 (other peripheral nerve) or the named nerve code?

For RFA, 64640?

Thanks

We've been using 64450 for the blocks and 64640 for the RF.

Thanks. Figured as much... confirms it pays $h*} as Medicare has only been paying for 1 unit on geniculates and lateral branches despite billing the 3 units of work I did.

We've still been getting 2 units for the hips

I'd try using the named nerve codes for the blocks. Pays more, and justified given the work

Doing one tomorrow. Anyone have a template for the procedure note for it?
