Hey, I'll be applying to anesthesia and had gotten 6 LORs when I realized that you can only submit 4, so I'm deciding which 4 letters I should submit:

LOR 1: my research PI, associate professor in nuclear medicine, I worked with him for 1 year doing clinical research, got a publication and poster presentation, although this has nothing to do with anesthesia
LOR 2: Medicine letter, associate professor, worked with him for a month, he was my adviser and my floor attending, (probably gonna use this one as many schools require at least 1 non-anesthesia letter)
LOR 3: assistant professor in anesthesia, worked with him for a week
LOR 4: assistant professor in anesthesia, worked with him for a week, I'm also doing a research project with him
LOR 5: associate professor in anesthesia, residency program director, worked with him for a week
LOR 6: professor and chairman of anesthesia, never worked with him but he's my mentor, he said he'll write me a letter but it's probably just a generic letter but then again he's the chairman.

I have good relationships with all of them which makes my decision hard. I'm definitely gonna use the medicine letter. Still deciding if I should include research letter+2 anesthesia letters or 3 anesthesia letters.

Probably would get more feedback in the Anesthesiology forum.

I would use LOR 4, LOR 5 (over LOR 3 if similar in quality), and LOR 2 (although from what I remember not that many programs require non-anesthesia letters but I could be wrong). Then, I would probably say LOR 1 especially since you spent a whole year (during med school?) doing it. The content of the research isn't as important as your abilities and contribution. You may have to explain the switch from rads to anesthesia at some point if that's the case.
