JMHO:
#1) There are a LOT of "Nursing Only" web boards out there (I'm a frequent flier on one of them for a number of years now). They talk solely about nursing, nursing, nursing. I have attempted to address my concerns there, will no avail. I've even received personal e-mail bashing my decision - calling me a "deserter," and that I "will never truely be ONE of THEM [doctors]," etc. Nurses don't care, for whatever the reason (so much for the "nurturing profession," huh?); I get enough of that type of grief at work, I'm looking for respite. I will assume that the majority of nurses who want to talk about nursing issues only will gravitate to places like that and not a BB dedicated to doctors or student doctors. And, tell the truth now...do you *really* want to hear about nursing-only issues? and, are you prepared to answer them appropriately, according to Nurse State Practice Acts, etc, etc? do you want to participate in the Million Nurse March on Washington?...getting my drift..?...
#2) I specifically posted my grief down here because I didn't think it right to jam up the usual (medschool) conversation above. Those that want to read/respond will, those that don't care will ignore - either way, it's ok by me. I do certainly thank those that have posted in response to my dirty-laundry-airing.

As kids we were bribed by our dentist with little toys and games, hence....I *love* going to the dentist! Sad part is, now I don't get any toys anymore...

Just wondering, what are some of the "nurses only" forums are you a frequent flier with? And do you (or anyone else for that matter) know if they have any for the field of "midwifery"? Thanks in advance for the help. 🙂
