I read somewhere in the forum that the extracurricular section is also for hobbies. If its something I did on my own time, like fishing or surfing, then what would I put in for the organization? Would I just put something like self enrichment?

I would also like to know what others are putting. If it's a hobby like Skiiing or something similar are people leaving "hours spent" blank?

p.s. Lets make this the official extracurricular thread 😀 I know a lot of us hate that there are already 10 threads on the subject.

Hello predents-As someone's who's finishing up this process let me try and help you guys 🙂

Extracurricular from AADSAS description on the website, doesn't quite look like this is the hobbies section at least it wasn't in the 2006 Cycle. If you have nothing to add to that section then maybe you can fill it w/skiing, fishing etc..however it says list activies in order of their importance to you. So try and show how interested you are in dentistry, by either volunteer work...or by showing that you were involved in leadership roles-->meaning you can work independently..etc.

Personally, I used this section to list my volunteer work, and leadership experience. If you were involved in a leadership role in your schools gov't or club, this is the place for it.

I am not sure, but perhaps fishing, if it's fly fishing could come under manual dexterity..? It's a thought..you could always explain it at your interview. G'luck to all of you!
