Hobbies

It definitely wouldn't help the application. I think you should focus more on academic related activities.

If you were to only list academic activities, wouldn't it make you seem like you weren't well rounded? It seems, to me atleast, that schools are looking for more then just the perfect studious student whose life only revolves around school. Being social is desirable as well.It definitely wouldn't help the application. I think you should focus more on academic related activities.
But thats just my take on the whole thing

If the application is specifically asking for the hobbies that are not related to the academia ( like some supplementals I am filling out right now ), how in the world would that not help him ? He is essentially answering the question he is asked.
I am putting down hiking as my hobby
This is what hobbies are, they are things you like to do besides all the volunteering and EC activities.explain why these hobbies affect you as a person, reflect on how you have developed certain characteristics from these activities. hope that helps
I agree with the jyw003...
I for one participate in 5k and 10k running events, mainly for charity and personal exercise goals. I am doing the disney 1/2 marathon in January as well.
Overall, I think these "running" events have helped shape/mold my character in a positive way. It definitely makes me more focused and determined.
You should explore how to convey your personal hobbies/activities in such a manner, that it weighs positively on your application. We aren't scholastic robots....we are normal, average people looking to make a difference.

You have to remember that anything you say or write can only be verified by your application (stats, ec, lor, etc),. You also don't want to go off topic or off tangent, or say something that causes additional questioning that may hurt your application (If you are the team captain of whatever, how come you didn't demonstrate that dedication in the classroom?). You can say you are the team captain of your football team, or ran a marathon, or climbed mount everest, or whatever, but guess what, it doesn't mean anything to anyone but you. It doesn't demonstrate how you will do in the classroom or in the work place.
Pharmacy school only cares about your communication skills in a professional and educational environment. With that said, the only social skills they require is the ability to hold a conversation during interview time. Trust me, the interview is extremely nerve wrecking as is.
Anyway, everyone is different and every interview is different. If you feel that talking about hobbies makes you a stronger candidate, feel free to do so.
yeah, I agree. They're trying to get a picture of you as an applicant. Be proud of your hobbies 🙂

Definitely, I put down Paintballing, Snowboarding, Paintballing while Snowboarding(j/k).
If it asks for non-academic related activities, fill up the page.

I just came across this question in one of my supplementals.. but they are asking for it to be contained within a resume/CV. How are you guys formatting this?
My whole resume is formatted like.. a resume. It seems odd to have a section at the end with "I like to.." sentences when "I" isn't used anywhere else in the document. Are you listing bullet points or giving a short explanation about the hobby?

Lol
Would it be too mundane to list running, jogging, or roller skating as a hobby in the supplemental application?
if you can relate it to pharmacy, go for it
i included one of my hobbies into my a couple of my supplementals as well as the interview itself because it showed my leadership skills
Right on, but be sure to include things that show you're capable of destressing from time to time. 🙂if you can relate it to pharmacy, go for it

If you have a really awesome hobbies, ie: scuba-diving, city orchestra, or professional DJ, by all means! Include them!

Well, I don't think you would necessarily have to relate them to pharmacy, I think they mostly want you to show that you are a well rounded person.

I would completely agree with this statement 🙂
