a letter that says they'll hang on to your file and put it on hold after you've already had an interview pretty much means waitlist right? aka "yeah, just kidding. we accidentally interviewed you. don't know how that coulda happened...better luck next time"👎

Depends on the school, some put the vast majority on Hold status until a big review and acceptance day/week. At many, though, it does mean waitlist, yes.

Yeah, it most likely means waitlist... but this doesn't mean that you still couldn't get in.... I'm in the same situation...

how did you feel after your interview? did you feel that it went fairly well? it just doesn't sound like anyone else who interviewed at this school in september got waitlisted...its so sad. its my only interview thus far and i loved the school. i must not have emphasized that enough...

i totally wrote and sent them a letter telling them how much i liked them and why and that they were my top choice school a day or two before i recieved their hold letter. how sad.

ah well, i should probably discontinue the self-pity. i have a feeling its time to start looking into those masters of science programs and studying for the mcats again.

Usually it means they need to interview more applicants. THen, in a few months, they compare you to those that were interviewed and put on hold as well. From there they either accept (some), reject (some), or waitlist (most). This usually occurs near the end of the app cycle. Good Luck
