I will be starting Physical Therapy school soon and was wondering whether it would be possible to work a 20 hours a week and still be successful in PT school? What are your stories? How did you handle it? What would you advise?

I don't think anyone in my class worked 1st year beyond occasional tutoring or grad assist with research. One student was a pro-cyclist and continued to compete and maintain sponsors, but this person also had a masters in physiology which I think provided a slight advantage.

Well I work 15 hrs a week and but still I had a 3.71 GPA in my first semester in PT school. I don't suggest you work more than 15 hours though. I still had a hard time keeping up with the school work.

From what I've heard from PT students, it is very hard to work more than 10 hours a week, because being in school is like your job. And you need any extra time you have to relax.
