This might just be heresay, but someone told me that if you get excepted to a dental school, it is possible to tell them you'd like to wait a year to enter the class. Is this true? Seems unlikley, but I dont know all the ins and outs. :) thx

Some schools let you you defer your acceptance a year, usually for a good reason.
 
it varies by school. if you had a valid reason some might accept a deferral, but i think most make you apply again.

BU and NYU will let you defer. I heard UOP does too but not sure.
 
Some people do and don't. I think Pitt and Penn don't.
