So i was just reading some information from Cliff Notes DAT Study Guide book and i found the HOLY GRAIL for solving the Dice questions in pattern folding. You are given an unfolded dice and they tell you to fold it and determine the correct answer. Here's the trick: opposite sides would always add upto 7. Look at your answer choices and for example select A. Look at the side of the cube which is facing you and lets say it is 4. The side opposite to it (the side which you can't see) should have 3 there. Which makes the two sides equal 7. Therefore if you 3 anywhere next to 4 in the answer choice A, that means that answer if WRONG! Similarly you can find the correct answer by finding two sides which add upto 7.

Don't forget to also match the other sides to front side that your are looking at. So if you you are looking straight at 3 and in the unfolded dice there was a 5 next to the 3, than make sure that five is there next to the 3. I hope it helps!

im not sure but i dont think the dice in the PAT follow the general x + y = 7 rule haha

Dice is relatively easy. There is a section on Kaplan's BB that highlights how certain objects should be folded.

Could somebody possibly confirm this, by posting an example? Thanks

Method does not work. Here is an example of how a dice with a face of 3 by the side of 4 is still the correct answer. The best way to look at these is with a top-front-end point of view.

Hey I am trying to work on my pattern folding so I was curious to see if I could correct the other answer choices: in order for C to be correct, at the top of shown cube would be a 2 instead of a 4 right? Also for B to be correct, a 6 would need to be at the top of the cube?
