I'm very interested in Osteopathic Medicine. Please let me know whether I have a realistic chance of getting into DO schools. My number one choice is PCOM-GA but I'm planning on applying to numerous schools.

BTW: How long does it take for AACOMAS to verify my application? I've submitted it about 10 days ago and haven't heard back from them.

pcom is one of the better schools...they def will not like the 21. Are you a US citizen btw? Also when is your next mcat because having stats like yours its important to get your app done ASAP! So that means primaries, secondaries and rec letters.

As for your primary, since its almost mid july it can take a while now because its peak season and they get alot of apps rite now so be patient since that is your only option and fill you your secondaries as soon as you get em hopefully you dont get screened with your 21 (dont thnk you will cuz secondaries are a money making gig for schools so most ppl get em).

But overall you HAVE to get your mcat score up. As close to 30 as possible will be great if not more. some of the newer schools have averages of 24 but the top ones like ccom and pcom are around 26-28 and these numbers are only going up as competition increases.

Thanks for the response! Yes I'm a citizen and I' m retaking it July 29th. I have 5 recmmendation letters: two DO, two science professors, and one pre-med advisor. I've also been working on the secondaries so I can send them in right away when I receive them. What schools do you think are in my range with my current stats?

Unless you can get your mcat up to a min of 24, don't bother to apply this cycle.
