I think that question is loaded and will stir up a lot of speculation. I think it is a valid question though. I can only speak about those DPMs I know personally. They are doing very well for themselves.
I could have stayed in the pharmaceutical business as an consultant and be better off financially but the stressors were quite different. I would rather make less money and be happy.
The podiatrists I know live much better than comfortable. There do seem to be some horror stories in podiatry so you should probably make sure this is something you really want to do even if the money doesn't roll in. MD and DDS may be much more garunteed money makers. You may also want to ask yourself whether you are willing to move if you find yourself in a bad place.
