Does Dental Schools really care if you do the Honors Program at your undergrad university? If you have a lower GPA like a 3.4 with the Honors Program would they take you over a regular student with maybe a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA?

I'm in my schools honor program too. I doubt the honors status would make up for a - 0.3 change in GPA. It sure can't hurt though.

no.

honors programs (like ivy league schools) are just another thing your mom can brag to her friends about.

graduating from an honors program just means you took some extra classes and jumped through a hula hoop or two.

graduating with honors is much better, as it means you had a high gpa.

Is this the same thing as being on the Dean's List when you graduate?

I have a Hons. B.Sc. but I think it's defined differently at each school. At mine, I have an Honours degree simply because I did a double major instead of a single. I'm not sure if that's worth anything.

I don't think it matters a great deal. I'm in the semi-Honors program for biology majors and all I've done was take one 4-credit honors Biology course, and 2-3 credits of Biology honors seminar. The 4-credit honors course was different from the regular course in that it had no curve, had a couple article summaries, and a poster presentation. The 2-3 credits of honors seminar was just a discussion based course on evolution books. Is it all worth it? Probably not but I only signed up for the honors program because my undergraduate isn't top-tier (it's ranked ~140 on U.S. News. My decision was more ego based than anything else.

Getting on the Dean's list means you got at 3.5 gpa at most schools.
Your diploma, if it has the Latin terms cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude, means that you got a high gpa.

Honor program is shown on your diploma by stating that you completed the degree within the honors school.
