I just entered the Honor's Program, which lets me start a research project. However, I won't be able to finish the research until after I apply this May 2011, but will have two Honor's classes on my transcript. Would it be worth it to postpone applying for a year so that I will have finished my research project?

Why the hell would you do that? If you're ready to apply then just apply and say you are currently ongoing in honors research. Work your a** off and finish the research early if you really want to put it on your app that badly.

This. I'm writing a thesis this year (my senior year) but included it on AMCAS. Just mention it, and by the time interviews roll around you'll be able to talk about what you've done.

If your application is otherwise competitive don't postpone. Just list your research under your activities in AMCAS and describe what you've got in progress.
