I am currently starting the requirements for a late added neuroscience minor (3rd year student looking to graduate in 2014). I am working in a neuroscience lab on a project next semester and i was wondering if this addition of a minor was a wise addition to my psychology degree( I have a lot of credits left in my years so i needed to do something). Also if I start my senior thesis at the start of my senior year( next fall), is that too late to matter?

Clinical psychology is a future goal.

Thanks

Did you double check with your advisor that your school will allow you to have a neuro minor and a psych major? I was a neuroscience major at two different universities (transferred) and neither of them would allow me to double major or minor in psychology. As far as I've heard, most schools think they're way too similar. Then again, I don't know of schools that offer a neuroscience minor, so maybe that was a factor...

I imagine all students applying straight from undergrad will be in your situation senior thesis-wise. You can list that it's in preparation and probably talk about it in interviews and stuff later in the year. I would say all research experience is good and can only help your application.

It is a neuroscience certificate, I called it a minor for clarity reasons. It seems like a good mix of people start their honors thesis the 2nd semester of their junior year, and the first semester of their senior year at my school, i just wanted to get your thoughts
