Hey! I am an RN with a backround in ICU/ER/Trauma and currently a flight RN. I love my job but have always known that I wanted to be a Doc. Only now has the time been right! I have been doing all my Pre Reqs through an online community college and have already finished Chem I & II. I am currently enrolled in the Bio I and Physics I class in sept. I'll do the other half of them in Jan and finish up with O Chem in june right before the MCAT in Aug. I have already begun to study a little for the MCAT's (verbal so far). a "pseudo" career changer, i guess. knew the summer before my senior year that i didnt want to go into the business world, but realized i had to finish what i started. interned a whole bunch at 4 different marketing/advertising agencies in college. worked for a marketing comapany in NYC for a year after college. realized i wanted to be a physician, went back to school about a year ago to take the prereqs, never looked back.

i think i might be a lost cause. i have a STACKED marketing resume, but nothing but hospital and ronald mcdonald house volunteering under my belt for my med school applications. graduated with a 2.6 gpa in college, but have pulled it up to a 3.0 after acing my science classes (hopefully will keep up grades, knock on wood). please pray for me, hehe.

Career changer, 26, in the business/finance/banking world throughout/after college. Always had an interest in becoming a physician since I can remember. Now figured out what I need to be happy so I'm going for it. Have a horrible GPA so I hope this 2nd degree will boost it for me. I need to get out of a huge hole.

I didnt realize I wanted to be a physician and a DO in particular until my internship this summer with the New York State Board for Medicine. They have been able to put me in contact with alot of people who can answer all the questions I have! And I am soooo ready to get started with this! I go to school in Rhode Island and am originally from New York and I really want to stay in the Northeast because I just love it here. I plan on volunteering, working, shadowing and taking a full course load this year to show the adcoms that I can pull the weight because of my poor gpa. Hopefully that will work! I wish everyone the best of luck!

I am a nontraditional junior at CSUF, 28, I love to cycle and surf. I decided to pursue Medicine 18 months ago, I was on a pre-chiropractic track until then.

I am hoping to take it April of 2006

When will you be finished your pre req work?
I will finish Organic II this fall. I did things a little bit backwards, Biochem and Physical Chem before Organic II.

When do you plan to actually start the online APP?
Sometime in June/July of 06. I am going to try and hold true to the idea that earlier is better.

What school(s) do you hope for?
OSU-COM, PCOM, UNECOM. I am also looking at a few MD schools, Univ of OK. COM, Tulane etc. . . Although, OSU-COM is my first choice.

I am a professional musician. I did my undergrad degree in music at SMU in Dallas, TX. I was accepted to grad school at the Royal College of Music in London and the New England Conservatory in Boston. Although, I turned down my graduate study so that I could care for a terminally ill guardian. I had always loved science/medicine so I started studying. I am now in the music graduate program at OK. Univ., but since my main prof. is leaving I am not going to finish my masters degree in music, but I will finish my science pre-req's.

I know this is monotonous, but Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.
