I thought they were supposed to call us either way, but I wasted a whole day staring at my cell phone... Did anyone get news from them?
 
i was complete 9/13 and got an email within a week--no phone call. no worries though, i got a few early invites and still haven't heard from others although i've been complete for almost two months.

sorry, but were you asking for final word from hopkins or just interview invite? i still haven't interviewed there yet. in any case, best of luck!!!
 
Oh I meant an acceptance. But congrats on your interview, Hopkins is as amazing as you think it will be

Same here, except I had to carry mine around at work. I'm going to call this afternoon if they don't call me first.
 
Did anyone call and ask when the decisions are actually going out?
 
The secretary said the mailings were sent yesterday. These go to everyone but she didn't give any indication of anything else
 
Ive been waiting anxiously since yesterday as well... although I know I am just setting myself up for major depression
 
ACCEPTED - phone call today at around 2PM Eastern time (10.16)
 
how does hopkins send out interview invites? Is there an online status checker page?

You know, you've had ten interviews at ten amazing schools. Try keeping that in mind, and your chin up. You're going to get acceptances - I think you'll be hearing some good news very soon. :luck:

I interviewed on the first day, 9.7 I think (lucky me), so i guess thats why I was notified so early.
 
ahh acceptance phone call today at 4:30 PM Eastern. I can empathize with those of you who are still dying, staring at your phones! Dont give up hope! And remember that 40% of the matriculating class comes from off the waitlist, so dont worry if thats how you fare....chances are you'll still get in! PM if you have any Qs
 
For those of us interviewing after 10/15, any ideas on the general turn-around time for admission decision from JHU?

Ask at the interview. They'll be able to give you a better response than any of us.

wow, you guys are amazing for getting accepted. i can only imagine how it feels. i hope to get in, but my stats are no where near close. good luck guys.

I'm waiting with you! Dying to get a confirmation from somebody on SDN that they really are calling today.
 
I'm anxiously waiting for the end of January! I was so pleasantly surprised by hopkins when I interviewed. It is now among my top 3 choices (possibly choice 1!)
 
Does anyone know what the email address is for the dean of admissions or even office of admissions there?

Still no call....probably means there's a waitlist letter waiting in my mail box this evening.. (i live in Baltimore).

Anybody else hear anything yet? I interviewed 10/18...and it'll be 8 weeks as of Thursday so I'm guessing we'll be hearing back one way or another this week?

Haha...what are the chances that nobody made it in this round? 😛 That would be horribly mean...

But then again...the only acceptance on the SDN thread for hopkins was from 10/18...and there are only 3 of them.
 
I submitted my app back at the end of September/beginning of October and haven't even heard that my application is complete, much less an interview.
 
Hey kids, question. For those of you that interviewed (or have future interview dates lined up): when did JHU send you the "your app is complete" email, and what are your GPA/MCAT stats? When did you get the interview invite?

I sent in my 2ndary at the beginning of Sept but got the "your app is complete" email mid sept.

cumulative GPA 3.8, BPCM GPA 4.0, MCAT 33S.

I called JHU today and got a voicemail that essentially said: "we shut down our admin office to slog through millions of pathetic applications. don't bother contacting us, ever. if we want you, we'll let you know. don't hold your breath."

🙁

I want some JHU lovin. ... So, lets here from you bastards with the interviews... 😉

Hmm...that's a little odd actually. I hope nothing happened to it. They sent me one email telling me they received the secondary I mailed them, and then another one when my file was complete 10 days later (even though all my materials were complete when they received the secondary). If you haven't received the email that says they have your secondary ...maybe you should check to make sure it didn't get lost in the mail?

Haha, yeah, it took them 10 days after sending me the "we got your secondary" email to send me the "you are complete" email on 9/27. Got an interview email 9/28. In fact, the interview came so quickly after the "complete" email, that I wonder if i was auto invited because I'm a Hopkins alumni? Or if they read my file when they got my secondary, and the auto-emailer was just a little behind. My stats are on on my MDapp page if you're curious (nothing really stellar). Good luck!

I've tried calling and writing and now they're saying not to contact them regarding the status of your app because they're too busy.

It's totally bizzare. My apps were complete forever ago, and I've been getting interview offers at great schools. I went to a tiny private Christian school, though, and I think a lot of East coast schools may reject me because of that.

The only rejection I've gotten so far is Duke, and I still haven't heard from Hopkins, Columbia, or Dartmouth, either.

Hopkins is totally un-contact-able at this point. I don't know what to do.

Although, I thought on the automated message, that they give you another phone number to call if you have any pressing questions?

I have called before and they basically told me to hang up so they could get stuff done. Yikes. I just e-mailed again. It's all very dissappointing. I guess I'll just wait and see!

DoctorDreamer, your stats make me want to vomit with envy. Well done. 🙂 Try emailing them and asking them if they got everything...

Everyone else out there that got interviews... feed me intel! I want to know why JHU is straight up ignoring me, or if maybe that's some kind of normal thing for them... 🙁

LOL, while I don't encourage vomit, thanks for the compliment.

But Hopkins is ignoring me, too, so you have company!!!

You can also try going to mdapps, and doing a search for people who got interviews at hopkins 🙂 That will give you all sorts of stats. What can I say, application process is fickle, who knows why you aren't getting any love.
