when was your file complete? I submitted my app a LONG time ago, but my file still isnt complete because my damn LORs got lost somewhere along the way 😡 😡 😡

I finished my application around 7/26? They recieved it on 7/29, but my recs were sent out 6/25. So they got there way before anything else did. Hopkins is good about LORs, just resend it out next day FEDex if you're really worried about time and since someone needs to sign it, they'll def get it.

Anyways i got mine through e-mail, and then you have to call in and schedule an appointment. Appointments start on the 9th of september and go every thursday and friday

Just wanted to give a word of reassurance to not freak out if you're not called right away. I finished my app in July of my app year but didn't get an interview until Feb. It's really hard not to wig out in this process, but trust me, it's not productive.

I got an email yesterday from JHU saying that they are missing me LORs... My school sent out my LORS last Monday, so they've had over a week to get there... Anyone else get an email like this? I'm wondering if it's something they automatically send out, and maybe my letters are here and just not opened and processed yet?

The LORs are most likely there and just not processed yet. Those e-mails tend to be sent out automatically at certain pre-scheduled dates. If each person gives them an average of 3 letters of LORs, then it should take them longer to go through LORs than just the secondary. Just call them and tell them your situation. The lady there should help you out.

i just got recently verified by amcas a couple weeks ago. how soon do i expect to wait should Hopkins decide to bestow there graces on me? are the secondaries pretty long, at least relative to the norm?

dear casey...

congrats on finishin your amcas... hopkins sends their invite via snail mail so it takes awhile.. my advice is to start the 2ndary now..so that it's ready to submit by the time you receive the invite.. it's a pretty long secondary with lots of little essays. also you can start on it even b4 you submit your amcas..go to the jhu school of medicine site and there's link to the online app..good luck..

When your file becomes complete, they send an e-mail. I am not aware of how to check status though. Maybe someone else here knows.

No, the first date is Sept. 9. I don't know if things are different this year, but the "status check" online never actually changed once you submitted the secondary.

It was an e-mail. My secondary application was sent in long time ago (even before their generic invite)

The subject of the email says "invitation to interview" ...so you'll know when it gets there. It came about a week after my file complete email.

Yeah, I was about to have a heart attack as I opened it, trying to figure out what school it was.
