I am having a tough time deciding between these two programs. I want to go into academics and location doesn't matter much to me. Which one would you put on top?

Both great programs. Can't go wrong with either. Edge goes to Hopkins.

Probably two of the hardest working residencies. Hopkins is slightly more prestigious, probably. Duke has a reputation as being malignant, whether that is fair or unfair I do not know. Hopkins residents work really hard, but also seemed really happy.

Ranking Hopkin higher than Duke, have a few programs in between. Feel like Hopkins has a more national name. Also liked the residents were more like myself. Didn't get a great feeling from the Duke residents and PD.

If location isn't that important to you, Hopkins is the easy choice here.

I honestly don't think Baltimore is that bad. If you can find a nice pocket of a neighborhood to live in, the rest of the city provides big city amenities, and there is also DC an hour drive away.

I enjoyed my Duke interview more then my Hopkins interview. However, will be ranking Hopkins higher because its in an awesome big city (Baltimore gets too much flak).

Heard Duke is malignant from a resident I met at another program who had transferred out.
