Just finished my DAT today and got the scores:

PAT 19, QR 18, RC 21, Bio 21, GC18, OC 15 <-- 🙁, TS 18, AA19

I really really don't want to retake my DAT, but I know it's going to be inevitable somehow!

My current GPA: overall: 3.79 science: 3.69. I'm only in the 1st semester of my junior year (with 68 credit hours) and I am currently taking Biochemistry and Ochem II in order to get my prereqs done. Is there a possible chance I could get accepted to an out of state school for the 2015 cycle? I currently live in Texas and was considering Baylor A&M college of dentistry, but looking at the matriculation stats I pretty much gave up on it since the average AA score was a 21 and the PAT was a 20. I barely had any time to study for my DAT these past weeks, but I was able to study over summer...though I forgot most of the stuff I learned lol.

That's an average DAT score but your sGPA is very good. Try to maintain it until you finish and you'll be good for other schools. If you plan to retake it then definitely use the material that others have written in their breakdowns

Would the 15 in organic chemistry lower my chances of getting into a Texas dental school? I was pretty disappointed with a couple of my scores. I used chad videos, but it didn't really help me.

15 is pretty bad, and considering your other scores are THAT high, I would definitely retake :/ best of luck

They aren't horrible...and your gpa is great! I would retake to get your orgo score up and you should be good! What materials did you use?

Yes, I have taken OC lab I which counts as 2 credit hours at my school. Thank god I'm done with that! I've spent countless hours stressing out about the purity of my products and tests. I should've waited a year later to take my DAT. :\

I had an extremely strong background in GC, math, and Bio since I took these classes in high school and college. (4 on both AP Bio and GC.) So I just took chad's videos quizzes and watched all the videos that I scored badly on. Skimmed my bio notes from freshman year.

The materials I've used so far studying for the DAT are:

-Crack DAT PAT - Scored around 15, 16, 22 I improved my scores by 6 points really quickly since I wasn't able to grasp top front end questions initially.
-Crack DAT reading - I scored 15s and 16s on my practice tests.
-DAT bootcamp free tests - These in my opinion were quite helpful in judging your scores in terms of where you were at. Scored around an 18 first time bio, 17 in OC, 18 in GC. Went over a couple of questions each section
-DAT Math Destroyer - Went through around 3 tests over the weekend and made sure I corrected the problems
-Skimming Chad's Videos over a period of a month for GC and OC (though OC wasn't as helpful to me as other people perceived him to be).

I bought DAT destroyer, KBB, and OC odyssey, didn't even touched that, probably a mistake on my part. :blackeye:

Hopefully my ECs increases my chance of getting in...

I would retake. You know your weaknesses is definitely ochem! look at my breakdown theres a link attached of powerpoint slides that EXTREMELY helped me during my DAT studies. They were a part of my ochem curriculum for both ochem 1 & 2 in college last semester.
