Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) is accepting applications for (6) Staff pharmacists. NNMC is a busy hospital serving a patient population greater than 50,000 covering 5,000 square miles. The pharmacy positions include 23 pharmacists, 16 energetic pharmacy technicians and one receptionist. The pharmacy fills approximately 1500 prescriptions per day. Opportunities exist for participation and leadership roles in many hospital-wide committees in addition to a inpatient pharmacy, a pharmacy managed anticoagulation clinic and the only IHS pharmacy collaborative seizure clinic. Potential also exists for the creation of new programs and clinics. NNMC is beginning to use the IHS Electronic Health Record which is supported by hospital administration. Future plans include expansion of the outpatient pharmacy, installation of an automated system for refills and another Scriptpro automated machine. NNMC is located in Shiprock which is in the northwestern area of New Mexico. It is a 45 minutes drive from Cortez, Colorado and Farmington, New Mexico and 1-1/2 hour from Durango, Colorado. Unlimited opportunities for many mountain and desert sports and recreation exist in the surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for motivated pharmacists who like the outdoors and are interested in career advancement.
