I have an interview soon. The recruiter asked me to book my travel myself and that they’d reimburse. How do I know if they will actually reimburse?

Anyway, isnt it common for employers to book the flight and hotel?

I mean if they aren't liquid enough to pay you for your plane ticket then you should accept that expense as a dodged bullet. For reference I paid for my travel extensively and was always reimbursed however they usually require a tax form.
