Hey guys, i have heard that the ADA puts a lot of different topics but sometimes they focus more on one than the other. Recently i have been reading plants and embryology have been tested extensively.

The tests don't really follow trends, and get rotated frequently. People taking the test the day before you could get a ton of questions on plants and embryology and you could get none. Try to focus on having a comprehensive understanding of all the material, rather than hedging your bets in certain subjects in anticipation of what you might get on the real DAT - it's really not predictable.

I have had several private messages from students who have taken the DAT in recent weeks and under estimated the Bio section. There are MANY MANY versions. A student that messaged me that took it a few days ago focusing mainly on Anatomy and Physiology, yet his exam had quite a few plant questions which he didn't prepare for. It truly is a crap shoot and not one has a crystal ball to tell in you advance. Don't believe everything that is posted on SDN as truth. Always question..Bio is vast and unless you over prepare you run the risk of a low score or one you aren't happy with.

Destroyer overkill?? NO!

it's for the student who wants to score 20 plus, BUT you must do all the work. And another factor is some students are smarter than others, went to better schools, etc. Those students might have to study less..Don't compare yourself to others. The DAT is a VERY VERY challenging test and to avoid a retake don't take it until you are fully prepared, if your intuition tells says are not ready, you probably aren't. No shame in rescheduling a test for more study time. Many students I have worked through the years have rescheduled and in the end were very happy they did.

Please don't use the DAT Destroyer for timing, it is not intended to be used in that manner, it is a learning tool.

Hope this saves someone from a possible train wreck.

Just my 2 cents and I sincerely wish everyone the best..

Nancy

ADA makes a breakdown of BIO dat and the % each topic contributes to the section
I would say they roughly hold true to this so this is your best bet if you are looking for "hot topics."
