hot topics in child psych?

I have an interview for a child psych rotation coming up. I'm wondering what topics I should read up on. I figure ADHD and autism are probably worth studying. Any others? I have no idea what to expect out of this interview! Apparently they will only take students with a real interest in child psych, and this is the only outpatient psych rotation available in town because no one wants to work with students!

While I'm tempted to suggest most topics in child psych - the two areas where the great students seem to shine are
1) understanding the stages of normal child development and being able to describe the behavior/cognitive processes in children compared with what's expected at their age
2) ability to articulate a formulation that takes into account the family dynamics and forces, and presents a treatment strategy that incorporates work with the parents

I would emphasize in your interview that you're interested in this developmental perspective and that your goal is to always take a "family centered" approach to you work with children.

Thanks for the tips! Do you have any suggestions for resources? I thankfully have a two week vacation before this interview. So, at least I should have plenty of time to prepare.
