I'd call the program and ask if they could recommend any convenient hotels nearby the hospital where you could stay and if they don't say anything about paying for it, don't inquire any further.
Please save yourselves a couple of hundred bucks and bid on priceline.com. Going rates.... $55at the Park Plaza in Boston or NYC, $45 in Philly(CenterCity).
I even got a room in Cleveland for $35 at a holiday inn!!!!
Good luck to all!!!

Thought this was a good thread to bump up for the financially challenged among us..
Has anyone been getting housing/airfare offers this year. The only school to offer has been UCLA. I guess its just not as common as in the past. Has anyone requested or gotten housing anywhere else?

As for housing, I'm starting to think that it depends on the school and possibly how early you got your interview offer. I've seen several people not offered housing at schools where I was offered.
The only place that hasn't offered has been Boston. MGH and BW. They did give a list of places that had interivewing discounts. Most were $100+. Not really a discount if you ask me.
Wash U offers $300 toward plane far + housing. I heard St. Louis U does too but I didn't apply there.

rochester offered the holiday inn
something to keep in mind about hotel stays: programs may feel they are good enough not to offer you any subsidy...if you really want to train there, then you can afford a motel 6 for a night... unfortunately often a faulty logic........primary reason: they can't afford to put up the 200+ inteviewees.........programs that do put you up are either very well off financially (ex Hopkins, UCSF), or own the building/hotel (ex Cornell), or are desperate to have people come (ex ...)
