So, I take the much-dreaded, big waste o' time known as Step 2 CS in Atlanta next week, and need a place to stay. Any recommendations? I like cheap hotels, and I'd like to be relatively safe, so as long as it fits those guidelines I'm happy.

Hey there,

I took my CS exam in Atlanta this past week. I stayed with relatives, but regarding hotels, I saw a Day's Inn about a ten minute walk from the test center. It's right off Interstate I-285. I'm not sure how safe it is there though, but it's right in front of a major highway. I also heard that you should avoid the Ramanda Inn listed on the USMLE guide if you are a female because even though it's close and cheap, it's a little "sketchy."

Anyways, good luck with the exam! Once you get past the first encounter and get into a rhythm, the rest of the exam is pretty much smooth sailing.

I stayed at a fantastic place. It was like a 5 minute walk, and the room was good-sized. the breakfast sort of sucked though. I forgot exactly what it was called, but it was C__ Inn and I think it's first on the list of the hotels that is on the CS info page that prints when you confirm a place
