House-hunting leave after ODS?

Does anyone know if one can take PTDY (house-hunting leave) between ODS and their first duty station?
I'm an HPSP grad in ODS now and wonder if this is possible? Someone told me that the PTDY is not available to new asscesions.
If it is possible, what is the reference that I can back it up with?

Don't know about Navy, but AF doesn't distinguish in 36-3003 between new accessions (well, ass-cessions if you have low self esteem) and anyone else. If you're active duty you're active duty. Typically you'd have to check into your new base then take leave though.
