I have posted a similar message in the "Housing" message board, but I am hoping this spot will give me more responses.
I am planning to reapply for Fall 2001 med school admittance. I am looking in Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago, and possibly Boston and Washington, D.C.
My concern: If a medical student is expected to make his/her studies a full-time committment, with no room for outside employment, then how can they afford living expenses such as housing, car, food, etc?
I admit my naivete in this area and am seeking serious and thoughtful responses. Do med school loans only cover tuition? Please help me if you can. Thanks for your time.
Gratefully,
