had a question concerning housing and financial aid. If i were to go to a school in cali, could i get financial aid to buy a small condo? I heard that you could get private student loans, for basically any amount. I realize this could lead to a mountain of debt, but, I figure, while i am in school, the condo would go up in value, to at least totally upset, or partially upset any additional charges and interest, and, if i had a roommate to charge rent too, i coul dreally come out ahead. any thoughts? advice. This is new to me, so i could use any insight

thanks

It depends. Some of what you call "private student loans" are nothing more than signature or private loans for students. They don't defer payments while you are in school, and so they are NOT educational loans in that sense.

I'd be wary of doing this, but certainly you can find money almost anywhere you look.
