Housing for Temple

I've just been accepted to Temple for this Fall and I'm undecided about housing because I didn't actually see the on campus apartments at Temple. What are some opinions about staying on campus or any good apartment complexes off campus?

I bet you can get good deals on craig's list, but how will you know the condition of the place unless you actually see it.
