Does anyone know of affordable housing in Northern Va near metro stations? I plan to live in VA as opposed to DC since its a little cheaper but i don't know where to start my search. Any suggestions?

Arlington, Alexandria, Crystal City....I would suggest "Camden Arlington", but the rent is rather high.
