hey everyone. I'm a 3 year certified tech working for CVS. I'm looking for a better pay raise so if you live in Houston,tx can you give me an idea of what Target and/or Walgs. would start me off at least?

The pharmacist at Target was interested in me, but haven't made a decision yet. ( we didn't talk hourly yet). I'd like to have an idea of hourly pay so when I talk to the pharmacist, I'm not way out of the range. I can't live with this 9.00/hr anymore ( at CVS)

or does anyone know any info on hospital tech? Do they work with your school sced. pretty well? it's hard b/c a lot of the jobs I see online are full-time. is there ANYWHERE in houston that you might know who will start at least $12.50 and up for certified techs?

I'm in houston too and honestly I'm barely at the 10 dollar mark. it really depends on the pharmacist and the amount of scripts that pharmacy does. I hear walgreens has a good starting pay. 10 dollars and above a friend of mine told me. But i did know a walmart pharmacist who was willing to offer at least 4 dollars more than that. So it depends.n I also heard hospital techs make more.

Well if you're intrested in WAG, the pay rate starts @ $10.50 or $10.75 I don't remember when I started b/c there was an immediate pay raise since the market was going "good" so I wonder if the start pay is @ $10.75 now. I doubt you're going to even start making above $11.00 in the Houston market @ walgreens as a tech. (You're not quite an intern yet? Coz our P2 intern made $14/hour, I think). But hey if you know someone who works for WAG and can get you in, then I think both of you can get referral $$ if you stay for 6 months and more if you stay longer. Good Luck. Get what you can if you want the experience and get paid.
