Just took it this in Houston, willing to offer advice or answer general questions.
Overall I would say FA for Step 2 CS was the best resource as well as practicing the big cases. I had no peds cases surprisingly!

I used LIQOPRAAA and then the standard q's. I tried to relate to the patient's personal life by adding side banter during the history taking. I also asked the patient if there was anything more they wish to share before I completed my history taking - very important!!

I washed my hands before each encounter and then summarized my findings. I tried to counsel the patient and explain the next steps to them. I also asked if they have any questions for me and tried my best to address them.
Oh - a mistake I made was not asking the coughing patient if they needed WATER!!! I forgot to counsel on smoking cessation =(. I got cut off for one case. I rushed through all my notes and didn't really have much to put for physical exam findings, except for the vitals (ie HR was elevated) or if the patient was acting "off" for a particular maneuver. I tried to make my first and second DD and supporting data very thorough... the copy and paste feature is your best friend!

Also, breaks are happening after each 3 case, with lunch after the 6th case!
Looking back I wish I built more rapport with patients!!! I also emphasized the fact that they are in good hands and we are here to provide the best possible care for them.

Hope this helps someone!..... not sure how I did overall (esp since ICE is my weak point but I am praying for the best!)

I found it a little disconcerting that from the orientation / lunch area you can look across the parking lot and see a "We Teach Clinical Skills" type business. As if the tension in the room weren't high enough already.

OP do you want to edit your second sentence? You don't really say what your resource was. Was it First Aid? A Kaplan book? What?

Hello ,everyone ? i'm IMG ,planning to take cs recently . I was woundering which locations are good for Img students . And i'm looking for sp ,anyone interested ??? Thanks

Hello, I had my exam today and I get noticed because I left the room late. Would it make additional excuse to fail the exam?
the exam supervisor knocked on the door after the final bell rang, as a warning to leave the room in one of the cases.

This may be dumb, but is the test center inside the Amegy Bank building? I'm assuming the parking garage is ok to park in since you'll get towed in the bank parking lot. The building isnt open on Sunday's so I dont have a chance today to do a proper test run. Thanks in advance!
