1. It is the most accurate since it includes all of the official amcas applicant data.
2. No, you should base your applying decisions on the MSAR in addition to what you know about URM admissions
Oh okay I see what you're saying, individually it could be low but statically for all the schools i apply to it can be much higher. With that said, would you consider that 75% a positive then....(i don't have family and people really to give me good judgment on these types of questions)
I wasn't just talking about you (I don't know your stats!).but their stats would still fall within my range, bc they break it up to GPA and MCAT scores
Anyone who self describes as African American is included.
That includes many highs stats applicants who are not generally considered AA (e.g. Egyptians).
That tends to muddy the water.
I find it interesting how most Egyptians want nothing to do with African Americans, until it comes down to application time...Wonder why that is 🙄Are Egyptians who self identify as African American actually considered urm by the adcoms?

Oh okay I see, yeah I can def see that happening often
I have posted in the URM forum the same question and got no response, could you just move this thread thereMake a post in WAMC or in the URM forum and we will be happy to help you out with a school list

No. The term "African American" typically denotes descendants of those who were brought to this country involuntarily up through the mid-19th century via the Atlantic slave trade. Most Egyptians are Arabs, and therefore legally considered Caucasian.

No. This is a well discussed topic on the forum and there are good reasons for it.
