  1. Pre-Podiatry
I will be going into my third year however I will be taking five years to graduate due to a major change. Freshman year I was a college golfer putting in 5 hours a day at practice and around an hour or two in the gym, I had a 2.96 over 31 credit hours. I am taking the second portion of A+P this summer which is my fav class and I should get another A in it which will put me at a 3.22 cGPA and a 3.6 sGPA. I have just under 50 hours volunteer work so far and will be shadowing a D.O. surgeon, a Podiatrist, a Dentist, and a family practice M.D. this summer. I am wondering how I am doing so far for podiatry and if there is anything I can do to help make me a better candidate. All info will be appreciated. My major is Biomedical Science with a minor in Chemistry.

Shadowing to find out what you really want to do with your life, studying, and having a fun college life are the most important things for you right now. So 👍 on the diverse shadowing and keep studying. Make time to party or do whatever it is you do for fun.

Keep up what your doing now and you will be more than fine when applying.

Your science GPA is .4 points higher than your cumulative?! That's nearly unheard of I'd say...

It's possible depending on how many science credits vs all credits that a person has.

ya my science gpa is higher because freshman year i was an athlete majoring in international business so i took foreign language classes gend eds and business classes and I didnt care about school as much as i do now, this year i took all science and math classes and held a 3.6 so since i hadnt taken any science classes freshman year i have a 3.2 cGPA and a 3.6 sGPA lol. I was just wondering how I am doin becuase I know my cGPA is lower than I want but I plan on improving it to at least a 3.5 if I can stay focused.

Science gpa is more important. Don't worry too much about cGPA, just keep your science as high as possible if you still have more science classes to take, since that will help both GPA's anyway.

thanks for the replies i appreciate it... and ya basically all my classes left are science im majoring in biomedical science and I hardly have any gen eds left so its upper level bio chem and math till i graduate but it should be fun im interested in all of it for the most part
